Our partner, Sunrise Pack Station, provides special fly fishing pack trips in the park. This is a unique experience, and only a handful of outfitters have permits to offer it.
Sunrise Pack Station recently had a cancelation for a three-night, four-day Slough Creek adventure in Yellowstone National Park for July 9-12. The trip can accommodate up to 8 people.
One of the most sought-after places to fish in Yellowstone National Park is Slough Creek. The fish are big, the water is slow, and the scenery is spectacular. We ride in, set up camp, and then concentrate on fishing. At this time of year, we match the many hatches coming off the water. These early fish have not seen many fishermen, so they come more readily to the fly. While on the river, look up and take in the surrounding scenery of Gunsight Mountain and Cutoff Mountain.
Your itinerary :
Day 1: A nine-mile ride into camp, arriving between 4:00 and 5:00 PM. The camp is about one mile off the river, as there is no shelter by the river for a stock camp. Anglers can head down to the river while we set up camp. Dinner is at 7:00 PM, giving ample time to get a fly wet after dinner, too.
Day 2/Day 3: Breakfast at 8:00 AM. Lunches will be packed for the anglers, who can head to the river and fish all day.
Day 4: Breakfast at 7:00 AM. Anglers will pack their bags before breakfast. Then, fish until around noon while we pack up camp. Come back and ride out to the trailhead.
The price is $3,040.00 per person. Call us if you are interested, or just if you have questions. This fantastic opportunity will fill quickly, as these trips are usually booked at least a year in advance.
Please note – that this trip will be operated under Sunrise Pack Station’s license and permits, not TOTF.
